42 Downloads

Broke the record again after yesterday's record of 41! Also had over 14 new images approved. Today will be a challenge as I am setting a goal to make 12 more images today. Should be interesting.

Rapid Draw

Yesterday I attempted to draw as many images as I could in a single day. I did 22 images but was not able to ink all of them. They were really simple images of children riding animals and family themes. My cartoons don't sell as well as my icons but I really enjoy making them.

Crystal Icon Series

My crystal icon images were accepted over the weekend. It was the largest series of images I ever uploaded. Almost half of them were rejected for being too similar to my other existing images. I was disappointed by the rejections but glad to know so many did get approved. I still have over 20 more to upload so I hope more of them get accepted. I love the clean and simple form and the glowing effect of the icons. I hope they are a big hit!

Silver Canister Level

Today I made it to Silver level on istockphoto.com. I will now get a 20% increase in royalty revenue and 75 upload slots per week. Thank you everyone for purchasing my images.

Record Breaking Day

I had all my educations icons approved yesterday which is a very rare thing to happen. I also had a record 38 downloads in a single day. Next week I turn silver level and I will have to create 75 images a week!!

Education Series

I spent most of evening yesterday making education icons. I finished the set of twelve and applied it to many different styles of buttons. Next will be getting them approved. I'm almost at 2,500 downloads which will take me to the next level. I will get more upload slots per week and a 20% increase in royalties. Very exciting month!

Flaming Shields

Just got some of my flaming shields accepted. I'm going to modify the flames on the rejected versions and try to make them cleaner.

Rainy Day

The past two days it's been very rainy in Los Angeles, CA. I'm off to do some exercise early in the morning here and then back to the work. Sales are still steady and going very well. I'm still doing 3D images at the moment. I will probably do some hand drawings soon because I have about 20 upload slots to do and that means I have to really crank out some images fast to meet my goal. Happy Friday!!

Children's Cartoons

My series of cartoons with kids has always been popular. It's easy to communicate funny or serious topics when I draw in a simple child-like style. I think that is why cartoon style television shows like, "Family Guy" can get away with being so outrageous. Here is an image that just sold today showing kids having a chat just before bed.

40th Birthday and Client Work

It was a very busy day yesterday. It was my partner's 40th birthday and I had a heavy load of client work. Very late into the evening, I managed to put 4 more images into my vector library. After making over 1,000 images, I noticed I can put together some really nice images without a whole lot of effort. The more you practice your craft, the stronger your muscles get at making the next project. I only wish my hands got stronger. They always seem to be aching by the end of the night. Mental note: take more breaks!

32 Downloads in One Day

Sold the most images in one day so far! 32 downloads is amazing! That is almost 3% of my total inventory. Based on the fluctuation of downloads, which is 1%-3%, I should get between 100 and 300 downloads per day when I reach my goal of 10,000 images! So amazing!

Scroll Icons All Approved

This is the first time I ever had 14 images in a row approved on the first try. They cover a wide range of topics but they are all the 3D Scroll style icon sets. I'm sure they will sell very well.

New Ribbons Download on The First Day

This image was purchased the same day it was approved. The same thing happened to the Papyrus document image. I think I am on a roll with this style of imagery. My partner and I went to a dinner last night with friends and everyone was buzzing about the vector graphics business. It's nice to see other people interested in this relatively new microstock concept of selling images online.
